Description

Welcome to Pestoury Vineyard, a family vineyard for 5 generations! Join a personalized tour in a small group led by a family member—Isabelle, Bertrand, or most often, me their daughter, Marie. 1 - First step of the visit: Welcome to Bordeaux We begin by welcoming you around a detailed map of Bordeaux, where we’ll introduce the region’s fascinating history and unique characteristics. Bordeaux is a world-renowned wine region, celebrated for its 65 distinct appellations, each contributing to the incredible diversity of wines. From bold reds and crisp whites to sparkling wines, Bordeaux’s wines are as varied as the land itself. This introduction offers essential context as we move into our vineyard. 2 - Outdoor Introduction If the weather permits, we begin outside by the vines. Here, we’ll explain how the sensations of wine begin right in the vineyard. The flavors, aromas, and textures we experience in wine are shaped by the grapevines, the soil, and the climate. You’ll learn about the history of our vineyard, which spans five generations, and discover the grape varietals, terroirs, and soils. Since 2020, we’ve been working towards organic farming practices, and we’ll explain how these methods benefit both the wine, and the environment. We’ll also discuss the seasonal changes and how they influence our work in the vineyard, offering you a clear understanding of the relationship between nature and wine. 3 - Exploring the Cellar Next, we head into the heart of winemaking—our cellar. We’ll guide you through every step of the winemaking process, from fermentation to aging. You’ll see how the tools and techniques we use transform our grapes into wine. We’ll introduce you to the tanks and barrels used for our white, rosé, and red wines, explaining how each one influences the wine’s flavor and texture. We’ll also discuss the importance of timing—when to harvest, when to bottle—and how we ensure each wine reaches its full potential. 4 - Guided Wine Tasting The highlight of the visit is the wine tasting. You’ll be able to sample our full range of wines, including Bordeaux Blanc Sec (dry white), sweet white, Bordeaux Rosé, a variety of Côtes de Bordeaux reds, sparkling wines, and our house-made grape juice (subject to availability). As we guide you through the tasting, we’ll share tips on how to properly taste wine, explaining the importance of looking, smelling, and tasting. A Special Note from Marie: Hello! Having grown up here immersed in the vineyard, I’m excited to share our wines, our history, and our passion for winemaking with you. Whether you're an experienced wine connoisseur or a complete beginner, our tours are tailored to meet everyone’s needs. We’ll personalize the experience according to your interests and questions. Our goal is to create a friendly, informative atmosphere where we can all share a love for wine and the land that produces it. We look forward to meeting you and sharing our story soon! Cheers, Marie & the Pestoury family
