The CIVB (Bordeaux Wine Trade Council) Wine School or the L’Ecole du Vin is located just across the street from the Bordeaux Tourist Office very close to the Esplanade des Quinconces tram stop.
You might like to try the CIVB's popular 2 hour wine course as this is an excellent introduction to the wines of Bordeaux and will set you on your first journey through the vines whether you are a traveler just visiting for a few days or a resident of the area.
An intensive course is at The Grand Crus level where you will be introduced to the legendary wines of the Médoc, Sauternes, Graves and Saint-Emilion and includes three days of travel in the vineyards perfecting your knowledge of the classified growths of Bordeaux.
L’Ecole du Vins will also arrange private 2 hour courses for groups. There are other courses and events throughout the year that the CIVB will be happy to give you details about.
The CIVB centre is a must to visit for any wine buff as this centre will supply you with excellent information about the Bordeaux wine region, suggest tours and explain the wine courses offered.
